The Hobbit is a fantasy novel that was published in September of 1937, written by J.R.R. Tolkien. The book follows the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, a hobbit who embarks on a life changing quest and takes the readers into an entire world of fantasy and excitement that only Tolkien could create. This book has inspired a three part film series including the first film, An Unexpected Journey (2012), the second film, The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and the new 2014 release, part three, The Battle of the Five Armies.
