Meriadoc Brandybuck is one of the fictional Hobbit characters in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic Lord of the Rings novels and the movies based upon them. Commonly referred to as Merry, he was a good and faithful friend to Frodo Baggins, the main character of the films. Merry was known as a resourceful Hobbit who was able to adjust to the happenings around him. Merry and fellow Hobbit, Pippen Took, become separated from their group in The Two Towers and spend much of the film with their own storyline. Due to the popularity of the character, Merry makes a popular choice as a character to portray for Halloween or cosplay.
